We source German limestone from our trading partners in a number of different German quarries.

The most famous, without doubt, is the Jura limestone which is well known for its distinctive characteristics. Jura Beige and Jura Grey both have recognisable markings and the occasional large ammonite fossils. The Beige and the Grey, both Jurassic limestones, are quarried from different seams in the same quarry.

Anroechter Dolomitstein, another excellent limestone, is a dark green or dark blue hard limestone with a scattering of fossils. Here, we used it as counter tops in a top London restaurant.

We have also sourced the beige Solnhofen limestone whose key characteristic is the occasional presence of sea marine fossils.
